So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter (2 Thess. 2:15). Guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the godless chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge, for by professing it some have missed the mark as regards faith (1 Tim. 6:21-22).

Fith or Faith?

Fith

Definition: a lookalike and sound-alike facsimile of the True Faith (which is the Catholic Faith found in its fullness in the Catholic Church).

Some groups come very near to that glorious communion, the Catholic Church. For example, the various eastern national churches who call themselves "Orthodox". For they, though lacking the Petrine Ministry, do teach the orthodox Faith and do have valid sacraments.

Fith sounds like faith, much as relativism sounds like philosophy. However, like relativism, fith is merely myth, as in a half-truth. A half-truth is, as the just man knows, a lie. Heretics often present morsels of the Truth, but their teaching falls short of the Truth by mixing in falsehood and by relying upon sophistry to promote the acceptance of their heresy.

Fith is liberal religion, the stuff of cafeteria (c)atholics who want the Catholic Faith to conform to their truncated views, their hedonistic and narcissistic demands. The concept of sacrificial love, to a liberal religionist, otherwise known as a progressive, is incomprehensible. Sacrifice eludes the liberal because sacrifice entails self forgetfulness and focussing on the good of the other. That focus on the other requires one to forget one's selfish desires which, if disguised by niceness and/or elevated to the first place in one's life, exclude the possibility of real love.

Fith is froth, the scum which collects around the edges of polluted ponds. Groups that refer to themselves as 'Catholic' while undermining people's faith are polluted ponds. The stuff that some groups teach is merely pond scum, toxic waste, filth not faith.

"A multitude of wise men is the salvation of the world(.)—Wisdom 6:24. Readers are welcome to make rational and responsible comments. Any comment that 1) offends human dignity and/or 2) which constitutes an irrational attack on the Catholic Faith will not go unchallenged. If deemed completely stupid, such a comment will most assuredly not see the light of day. Them's the rules. Don't like 'em? Move on.
