So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter (2 Thess. 2:15). Guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the godless chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge, for by professing it some have missed the mark as regards faith (1 Tim. 6:21-22).

Relativists thinking their way to oblivion.

A short story.

What began as a gentle exchange about the meaning of words quickly degenerated into an inane encounter with relativistic thinking. In the end, when confronted with the obvious contradiction—i.e., that there are no absolutes... which is the only absolute a relativist would agree with—the college student with whom this blogger was speaking said, and I quote, "I'm ok with making others conform to my reality." A reality, one should add, that is nothing more than a fiction of confused experiments in redefinition in aid of a sad attempt to find approval. His is the credo of one attempting to justify his lack of a moral compass and his orientation to hedonism and various "new" sexualities. The student is the product and exponent (tool) of a marketing strategy that attempts to fashion sin into virtue.

One thing is certain, if these badly behaved kinds of kids find their way to power, the complete degradation of our western societies will be assured. Of course, their wacky ideological elders have already provided for them a foundation of sand upon which to add their own slummy dwellings. The worst, however, could be yet to come unless a generation of young Catholics unleash the Faith upon the world, the Faith not compromised by an intellectual laziness which permits people to think themselves into a moral quagmire and to attempt to burden others with their fantasies.

Let us hope that bishops and priests provide much better formation in the Faith. Mothers and fathers—the first educators of their children—must be better formed to help their children weather the various storms to be thrust upon them: the storms of revisionist sexuality, fascistic liberalism and a healthcare system rapidly descending into the nightmare of euthanasia.

"A multitude of wise men is the salvation of the world(.)—Wisdom 6:24. Readers are welcome to make rational and responsible comments. Any comment that 1) offends human dignity and/or 2) which constitutes an irrational attack on the Catholic Faith will not go unchallenged. If deemed completely stupid, such a comment will most assuredly not see the light of day. Them's the rules. Don't like 'em? Move on.
