So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter (2 Thess. 2:15). Guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the godless chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge, for by professing it some have missed the mark as regards faith (1 Tim. 6:21-22).

2016's Christmas Naughty List

clipartkid

The following rapscallions discovered lumps of coal in their stockings.
  1. Walter Cardinal Kasper - for active promotion of heterodox teaching.
  2. Cardinal Blaise Cupich - for melodramatic attacks on faithful bishops and his limp witness to the dignity of human life from conception.
  3. Bishop John Stowe - for supporting dissenting groups.
  4. Fr. Anthony Spadaro - for being part of 'the failure to communicate.'
  5. Atlantic Bishops of Canada - for a tepid witness and for promoting abuse of the sacraments.
  6. Fr. Tom Rosica - for continuing misuse of his media organization to attack faithful Catholics and for disseminating lukewarm Catholicism.
  7. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada - for abetting suicide and facilitating the culture of death.
  8. Tim Kaine, Hillary Clinton's VP running mate - for enabling the sophistry of 'personally pro-life but politically "pro-choice"'.
  9. Dissenting groups - they know who they are, what they've done and what they shamelessly continue to do.
  10. Pope Francis - for, once again, unfairly berating his cardinals at Christmas, and for refusing to clarify his teaching.
The above list is not organized from least misbehaved to worst behaved.

And, in case you didn't know, the following are members of the 2016 Nice List.

  1. Cardinals Burke, Brandmüller, Caffarra and Meisner, for services rendered to the Truth.
  2. The Bishops of Alberta and the Northwest Territories, for services rendered to the Truth and the protection of the faithful.
  3. Archbishop Chaput, for his constant faithful witness to Jesus Christ.
  4. Dr. Edward Peters, canonist, for his outstanding Christian witness and clarity.
  5. Faithful Catholic bloggers, among them The Liturgy Guy, for upholding respect for Tradition.
  6. Mary Wagner and Linda Gibbons, whose godly witness to the sanctity of human life puts the rest of us to shame.
  7. David Daleiden and the people at the Center for Medical Progress, for services rendered to justice and the dignity of human life.
  8. Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP), for a constant joyful witness to the reverent celebration and preservation of the sacred rites and the Church's spiritual heritage.
  9. The Ordinariate, for heralding true ecumenism and worshipping God in the beauty of holiness (Ps. 29:2).
  10. Police, security and military personnel, members of the clandestine services, emergency workers and health professionals whose efforts to protect us and/or restore us extend a measure of the mercy and love of God.

"A multitude of wise men is the salvation of the world(.)—Wisdom 6:24. Readers are welcome to make rational and responsible comments. Any comment that 1) offends human dignity and/or 2) which constitutes an irrational attack on the Catholic Faith will not go unchallenged.
