So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter (2 Thess. 2:15). Guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the godless chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge, for by professing it some have missed the mark as regards faith (1 Tim. 6:21-22).

Sleep, rest, repentance.

Sleep, it is a grey curtain drawn across the face of the living, a thin veil between the living and the dead, a land of dreams and nightmares and of demons that taunt the imagination, of angels who whisper shards of truth that splinter and stab at the fading landscape as the weary traveller wakes to dawn, a realm of ghosts that haunt the twilight. Hidden among the treasures that delight, committing treason against peace are temptations too quick to snare and renounce. Bearing the past, they graze the heart and char the soul once more.
