So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter (2 Thess. 2:15). Guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the godless chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge, for by professing it some have missed the mark as regards faith (1 Tim. 6:21-22).

Live Nativity scene at French Catholic elementary school cancelled due to security concerns.

—from L'Observatoire de la Christianophobie comes the following report concerning the cancellation of a primary school's live Nativity scene due to security concerns in the wake of the recent atrocities committed by Islamists in Paris.

Li Cigaloun de Saint-Gilles est une école privée catholique, sous tutelle diocésaine, qui reçoit 270 enfants en maternelle et en primaire. Chaque année, avant Noël, l’école organise une Crèche vivante fort appréciée : celle de cette année devait se tenir le 20 décembre. Alléguant des attentats qui ont ensanglanté Paris, le maire LR de Saint-Gilles, Eddy Valadier – agissant sur instruction de la Préfecture ? – a pris la décision de l’interdire et a déclaré : « Malgré ma proposition de renforcer significativement les moyens de sécurité autour de cette manifestation, l’annulation a été maintenue. En tant que maire de Saint-Gilles, je regrette beaucoup cette décision, qui prive nos concitoyens d’un événement très apprécié de tous ». Some 270 children are enrolled in the kindergarten and elementary grades at the Catholic school. The Mayor of Saint-Gilles, Eddy Valadier, acknowledged with regret the cancellation of the event:
"Despite my proposal to significantly reinforce the means of security around this event, the cancellation has been maintained."
Reports are unclear as to who is responsible for requiring the cancellation.
