So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter (2 Thess. 2:15). Guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the godless chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge, for by professing it some have missed the mark as regards faith (1 Tim. 6:21-22).

Postering the Pope. Papal murals.

The Holy Father is getting some excellent face time these days. The largest and most recent image is on the side of a building near Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY. (Click on images to enlarge.)

A nearly 70-metre (approx. 230 feet) tall mural featuring an image of Pope Francis nears completion in New York City Sept. 1. The artwork was commissioned by DeSales Media Group, the communications and technology arm of the Diocese of Brooklyn, N.Y.—CNS/Catholic Register
It might be noted that DeSales Media Group is
the technology and communications arm of the Diocese of Brooklyn, publishing news and information with a Catholic point of view. Its cable, print and online properties include NET TV, which produces Currents, the only Catholic daily news program in the country, and The Tablet, the only weekly Catholic newspaper in New York City. Other properties include the Nuestra Voz newspaper and the Catholic Telemedia Network.

The giant mural, which depicts Pope Francis smiling and waving, is sprawled across the south façade of 494 Fifth Ave, visible from 34th street and Penn Plaza. Designed by artist and Catholic convert Van Hecht-Nielsen, 41, and commissioned by the Diocese of Brooklyn, the giant Pope Francis is a bold and bright sight to behold, even among the hustle and bustle of Midtown. The mural promotes the Pope’s arrival in New York City as part of his American tour on September 24, and the massive Mass he will lead across the street at Madison Square Garden the following night.—Justin Joffe/Observer News.

"A multitude of wise men is the salvation of the world(.)—Wisdom 6:24. Readers are welcome to make rational and responsible comments. Any comment that 1) offends human dignity and/or 2) which constitutes an irrational attack on the Catholic Faith will not go unchallenged. If deemed completely stupid, such a comment will most assuredly not see the light of day. Them's the rules. Don't like 'em? Move on.
