Planned Parenthood: ethically tone deaf and morally blind?

Ethically tone deaf:
  • the inability or unwillingness to distinguish between what is ethical and unethical.
  • proneness to selective hearing.
Morally blind:
  • the inability or unwillingness to see the immorality of one's actions.
  • proneness to making one's own immoral behaviour the measure of what is right and wrong.
The latest chapter in the Planned Parenthood 'lies are truth' saga would be comical were it not for the fact Planned Parenthood, according to The Center for Medical Progress, has been caught allegedly trafficking in aborted pre-born babies' body parts.

In a remarkably display of shameless audacity in light of the seriousness of the accusations, Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, attempted to shift the narrative away from the facts as precisely conveyed by none other than the Senior Director of the Planned Parenthood Medical Services Department, Dr. Deborah Nucatola.

Did the video accurately capture what Dr. Nucatola said? Does Planned Parenthood traffic in fetal human body parts? The Magic 8-Ball replies:
  1. It is certain.
  2. It is decidedly so.
  3. Without a doubt.
  4. Yes definitely.
This past week, Planned Parenthood and falsehood, i.e., a copious amount of excrement from one large male bovine, once again consummated their union when Planned Parenthood's Richards gave her sophistic reply to an interview that exposed Planned Parenthood's trafficking in fetal human organs. Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Senior Director of Planned Parenthood’s Medical Services Department, admitted that her business traffics in and quite possibly profits from the sale of aborted fetal humans' organs.

Government is taking the video exposé seriously. Three Congressional committees are investigating Planned Parenthood:
The congressional investigation was announced as House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) called on the Obama administration “to denounce, and stop, these gruesome practices.”
“Nothing is more precious than life, especially an unborn child,” Boehner said in a statement. “When anyone diminishes an unborn child, we are all hurt, irreversibly so. When an organization monetizes an unborn child – and with the cavalier attitude portrayed in this horrific video – we must all act.”
Governor Bobby Jindal launches investigation:
"Today's video of a Planned Parenthood official discussing the systematic harvesting and trafficking of human body parts is shocking and gruesome. This same organization is seeking to open an abortion clinic in New Orleans. I have instructed Louisiana's Department of Health and Hospitals to conduct an immediate investigation into this alleged evil and illegal activity and to not issue any licenses until this investigation is complete. I am also asking the FBI to assist DHH in investigating this alleged criminal activity by this organization."

The President of Planned Parenthood, Cecile Richards, responded to the allegations:
"Our top priority is the compassionate care that we provide. In the video, one of our staff members speaks in a way that does not reflect that compassion. This is unacceptable, and I personally apologize for the staff member's tone and statements," said Richards.
Which is to say... .
Our top priority is the preservation of profit. In the video, one of our staff members speaks in a way that exposes our inhuman activities. This is unfortunate, and I'll do whatever it takes to deflect responsibility for said inhuman activities.
Firstly, Dr. Nucatola spoke to the facts, i.e., that Planned Parenthood traffics in fetal body parts. Her tone of voice is irrelevant to the accuracy of the content of the discussion.

Secondly, there is nothing compassionate about the work that Planned Parenthood carries out, i.e., fetal dismemberment and the trafficking of human body parts, for the sake of profit. Only in some death camp run by genocidal maniacs would Planned Parenthood's agenda be lauded as compassionate.

—Sorry. Was the tone of voice of the preceding paragraph unacceptable? If offended, please re-read Cecile Richards' "apology" and apply it to your understanding of her attempted mitigation of her corporation's liability for crimes against humanity.

How is Richards' statement not the height of Mengelean pride? Her response smacks of the arrogance of the population-purity advocates who persist in the myth that they know best who should and who should not have children, that they know who should thrive and who should die, that they know and are entitled to declare who is human and who is not.

People of colour, in particular, should be worried because Planned Parenthood has a long history of targeting African American and Latino communities.
Media complicity: sin of omission.

Planned Parenthood's media allies, which is to say most mainstream for-profit media organizations, appear to be attempting to obfuscate and distract people from the indisputable evidence obtained by the Center for Medical Progress.

If editorials are any indication, the mainstream media appear to be giving Planned Parenthood a pass. One would normally expect from of corporation-hating liberal media watchdogs an indecent amount of scrutiny of a mega-million dollar corporation. Instead of what appears to be their running cover for a mega-million dollar empire, the media should demonstrate an appropriately serious and well focussed dispassionate observation of the facts, facts which if made known in the mainstream press would and should sicken anyone who values human life. Then again, when lately has the MSM demonstrated an interest in facts, science, justice and ethical conduct? The MSM, with very few notable exceptions, are culturally, scientifically and morally illiterate.

Evaluation & Commentary
Latest revelation.

Another video that is certain to go viral has been released by the Center for Medical Progress that exposes, once again, Planned Parenthood's unethical activities:

Will we now see the media actually conduct a rigorous investigation into Planned Parenthood's practices? Every time the mainstream media covers for Planned Parenthood and provides support for "progressive" causes, they run the risk of losing what little integrity they possess as news organizations responsible for reporting, NOT making, the news. Currying favour with the public by advertising and supporting certain issues hardly qualifies as dispassionate reporting. Given the left vs right partisanship of various media enterprises, an expectation of journalistic integrity from the mainstream media is wishful thinking for the moment.
Failed tactics of the relativists:
  1. The video has been highly edited. The partial view heresy. Claim that a report fails to provide a true, nuanced and unbiased account.
  2. Her tone of voice does not represent our mission. Shift the narrative to the "colour" away from the content. Confuse emotion with facts, or vice versa. Speak with passion to convince others of one's moral rectitude. Appeal to emotions, not reason, to avoid a real consideration of the facts.
  3. Let me be clear... we're the compassionate people. Canonize yourself. Speak with passion to convince others of one's moral rectitude. Appeal to emotions not reason to avoid a real consideration of the facts.
  4. You cannot believe them... they hate women. Demonize the opposition by accusing them of harassment (which is like accusing the police of harassing criminals who engage in the trafficking of women) in order to distract and deflect attention away from one's behaviour.
Can we expect Cecile Richards to issue another newspeak obfuscation of her empire's barbaric practices? Can we expect the MSM to be silent about the Planned Parenthood's malignant improprieties? Probably on both accounts, and we should expect another body to be thrown under the bus, that of Dr. Mary Gatter, President of Planned Parenthood’s Medical Director’s Council.

Hear all those doors being slammed shut? That's the sound of Planned Parenthood going into lockdown.

"A multitude of wise men is the salvation of the world(.)—Wisdom 6:24. Readers are welcome to make rational and responsible comments. Any comment that 1) offends human dignity and/or 2) which constitutes an irrational attack on the Catholic Faith will not go unchallenged. If deemed completely stupid, such a comment will most assuredly not see the light of day. Them's the rules. Don't like 'em? Move on.

We are not just material beings, but spiritual persons with a need for meaning, purpose, and fulfillment that transcends the visible confines of this world. This longing for transcendence is a longing for truth, goodness, and beauty. Truth, goodness, and beauty are called the transcendentals of being, because they are aspects of being. Everything in existence has these transcendentals to some extent. God, of course, as the source of all truth, goodness, and beauty, has these transcendentals to an infinite degree. Oftentimes, He draws us to Himself primarily through one of these transcendentals. St. Augustine, who was drawn to beauty in all its creaturely forms, found the ultimate beauty he was seeking in God, his creator, the beauty “ever ancient, ever new.”―Sister Gabriella Yi, O.P.
